Monochromatica Tarot Deck
As soon as I discovered this deck on Kickstarter, I knew that I needed to back it. One of the things that drew me to tarot and divination practices was the ability for these practices to harness and celebrate beautiful imagery and art to convey a message. This deck for me is the epitome of divination being embodied in beautiful art. I will never tire of just flicking through this deck to soak in the amazing art and simplicity of these beautiful cards. Sometimes, the cards are so much more than a divination tool - they are a chance to pause and appreciate the talent and art created by others. If you purchase this deck by the amazingly talented Bethan Hamilton, you’re purchasing so much more than a valuable divination tool for your practice - you’re buying an amazing piece of art. Enjoy!

From Monochromatica Tarot on Etsy:
The Monochromatica Tarot DeckA 78 card contemporary Tarot deck created from detailed original hand-drawn art works.
The Monochromatica Tarot deck consists of 78 cards featuring hand-drawn card designs inspired by the 1910 Rider-Waite tarot deck. Each individual card started out as a detailed hyperrealistic A5 pencil drawing on paper, which was then photographed and scaled down to form a card design. Each design depicts my own interpretation of the imagery and symbolism of the original Rider-Waite cards. Through research and care my aim was to create artworks that respect and embody the Rider-Waite tarot symbolism without creating a reproduction or imitation of the original.
Each card design began as a concept sketch before being drawn out in detail as larger images (approximately 14 x 14cm / 5.5 x 5.5in). Each image was then captured and converted to a digital format for editing. This was to ensure uniformity and the highest possible quality is maintained throughout the deck.
Each card is 70 x 120mm / 2.75 x 4.72in in size and printed on 300gsm FSC marked card stock (FSC Mix Credit CU-COC-822090 - a mix of certified sustainably sourced and managed pulp products, this reduces the need for bleaching and other chemical processes used on recycled papers). They are also sealed on both sides to protect the cards from handling etc. The deck comes in a two part rigid box, with a printed design on 125gsm Catalina paper which is wrapped around 1500mic white lined grey board.
Note: A digital guidebook is available with this deck - all of the decks come with a sticker inside the lid with the password, link and a QR code for the guidebook (I’ve confirmed this with Bethan directly, I know that there are concerns in the community currently about decks that don’t come with guidebooks being counterfeit - I can absolutely guarantee that these decks come direct from the artist in the UK and are 100% genuine).
