TrueBlack Tarot
Now, for some reason, I’ve been holding off on offering this deck - mainly because I wanted everything to be perfect for launching this PERFECT deck! So look out people, I’m bringing out the big guns now!
This deck, no joke, would be THE deck I have with me if I could only have one deck with me for the rest of time. That’s a big deal - I have a lot of decks I would struggle to part with, but this one, it’s so special, and robust and gorgeous - its a no-brainer for me. And I love black.
When you first see the deck, the intake of breath is mandatory, the imagery is so evocative and mesmerising - its hard to refocus on anything else after seeing it.
However, this is nothing compared to the first time you actually receive it in your hands - texture, sound and visuals combine to make this a complete experience. And every time I’ve read with this deck, its been insightful, beautiful and on-point.

- the cards are quite thick (which I like), but it means that shuffling the cards can be challenging (its a thick stack of cards to hold). Make sure to find a way to shuffle the cards that will suit you and protect the deck.

TrueBlack was conceived as a timeless tarot.
Every detail has been carefully chosen to embody an exacting perfection, creating a deck that lasts a lifetime and speaks of many more.
TrueBlack is the brainchild of Arthur Wang, designer and illustrator. Growing up in NYC's myriad mix of cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs, it was easy for him to become fascinated with the occult from a young age.
Books of anthropological folklore, paranormal studies, and witchcraft throughout all ages and geographical locations filled his shelves, and from there, the marriage of the occult studies with his design background was an easy connection to make. He has since been working full-time in product design while creating TrueBlack.
All designs, illustrations, logistics, photography, and production is handled by Arthur. And every deck is painted, wrapped, and boxed by Arthur and his wife Ellie.
Not only is every deck hand-edged in black paint, they are also crafted with world-class precision manufacturing, resulting in a deck that is scratch resistant, water resistant and soft as a petal.
Every TrueBlack deck comes complete with:
- 79 cards on thick, matte stock
- Magnetic book-style box
- Guide booklet
- Deck is standard tarot size, 2.75”x4.75”
