The Empyrean Tarot

NZ$175.00

Following on from the mind blowing ‘The Empyrean’ comes its natural tarot companion - The Empyrean Tarot. Gosh.
If you missed the memo on the Aurora Borealis recently (like me!), don’t fret. This deck has ALL the colours and beauty of that phenomenon which you can experience any time you like!

When I need some truth, some decadence, some joy, some meaning in my day - all of the Threads of Fate decks meet that need - but some just take it to the next level. This is one of those decks.

The lenticular printing of these cards creates such a dreamlike state, and yet the movement helps to feel like there is flow and an active pulse to the reading. The texture of the cards is something you might need to get used to, but it adds to the unique experience of reading with them. The images are beautiful and the colours (particularly the purple hues) are my palette.
The chunky guidebook fits perfectly in what is quite a large deck box (will have to get some bigger boxes for shipping these perhaps!), and is a revelation. So much information for each card (great for beginners but also super insightful for long time readers), and for context, the fictitious journal blurbs are really wonderful - sometimes a story helps us relate to the card and meanings more.

The deck is quite heavy, but I would still recommend being careful with how you use and shuffle the cards. It can be tricky to pick up an individual card from a flat surface because of the card texture, be mindful as I’ve had one card have the backing start to peel off when I tried to flip it over with my nail (shuffling the cards roughly can also create the same issue) - still completely fine and useable but I wouldn’t want to push it too much. So be gentle and careful!

Of note: It is VERY difficult to take pictures or videos of these cards - they are much better in person. So just be aware that the product photos here are the very best I could do to show the different images on each card - but rest assured, they look MUCH better in person.

Also, The Empyrean (Oracle) is available in the MoonAmaia collection also - similar concept but using the Threads of Fate unique oracle structure - absolutely beautiful as well!

_____

From the Threads of Fate website:

Empyrean: The highest heaven, supposed by the ancients to contain the pure element of fire.

In the fall of 2021, Threads of Fate were struck with the concept for the Empyrean oracle. A heavy-hitting deck that embraces paradox and polarity. They wanted it to be bold, alive and demand transformation from those who work with it.

The time has come to launch its counterpart: The Empyrean Tarot. Empyrean is very much a specific realm, and these decks live within that realm.

Tarot is a journey, and over time, each card will continue to grow in meaning along with our life experiences. We seek to make art that grows with you - each card providing a container that holds more than the standard card, offering different perspectives when you’re ready for it.

Specs:

78 cards
4.75" x 3.25" card size
5” x 7” box size
Magnetic box
Lenticular printing on plastic (these can only be made on plastic sadly!)
Includes 300 page booklet

Lenticular printing, while innovative, can introduce subtle imperfections on cards due to its complexity. The process involves a lenticular lens creating depth or movement illusions, but achieving 100% perfection is challenging. Small irregularities may arise, resulting in minor, often subtle, imperfections on the cards. These variations highlight the intricacies of lenticular printing, emphasizing the uniqueness of each print rather than expecting absolute flawlessness.
