Have you ever had a tarot deck that brings you joy every single time you use it? This is that deck for me.
The Cursed Auguries Tarot by the amazing Ana Sora is such a special deck - with the feeling of shadow and dark sprinkled throughout the cards, the subject matter can be a little confronting - but it gives the deck some substance and weight which I appreciate. Skulls, hares, snakes, apples, nails, toads, spiders - you name it, its there - and its all amazingly illustrated. The colour aesthetic of the cards is part of the appeal - pinks, light mint greens, browns and reds - they all combine to really bring the feel of the cards to life. These decks have travelled all the way from Spain to be made available down under - I’m so honoured to have the opportunity to sell these beautiful decks and excited for them to be seen and appreciated by art and tarot appreciators alike.

Of note: there is no guidebook with this deck, but it was developed with a Tarot de Marseille structure in mind - so if you’re familiar with that, it should be easy to find a starting point for interpretations, and intuitively develop those interpretations based on the card illustrations.
Also, I remember receiving this deck for the first time and being a little wary of the card stock (the edging is quite rough and not coloured, gilded or even tidily or perfectly edged). But with more use, I’ve enjoyed the card stock immensely - so easy to shuffle, feels good to the touch, and the edging gives the deck a tactile texture that seems to resonate with the subject matter of the cards. Very special indeed! Use your deck a lot and it will evolve and shape with you.

Outline from the deck creator's listing on Etsy:

The colorful art for the Cursed Auguries Tarot Deck was created under the premise of folk magic from England and the old craft; Traditions like the witches ladder and such and animal imagery that has a strong presence in superstitions.

There are also certain characters like the Witch (Human form and her shape shifted as the hare) in different situations and interactions, in kind of a dark fairytale that will change regarding the reading! This narrative also symbolizes the cycles of nature.

__

***The deck does NOT include a booklet.

However, it can be used just as the Tarot de Marseille since the concept for the cards was based on a reinterpretation of this classic deck and the suits are the same (Pentacles - Apples, Wands - Twigs, Cups -Toad’s eggs and Swords - Nails) or you can keep it as intuitive as you wish!

***Minor Arcana.

Since this deck was conceived observing the classic Tarot de Marseille, the minor arcana works in a similar way, meaning that in every suit, cards from 2 to 10 are pip cards and the King, Queen, Page, Knight and Ace card are illustrated representing a specific scene.

__

Deck specifications:
